BNEO GREAT 2024

The Office of the Secretary to the Sanggunian, under the leadership of MS. KRISYNTHIA RAQUEL C. PADER, along with her Training Management Team, collaborated with the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) of Maramag, Bukidnon, to host and organize the "Basic Orientation Course for Barangay Newly Elected Officials (BNEO) Towards Grassroots Renewal and Empowerment for Accountable and Transparent (GREAT) Barangays 2024." The event took place from April 10-13, 2024, at the Grand City Hotel in Cagayan de Oro City.

The ACTIVITY DESIGN OBJECTIVES of the said event are as follows:

a. Familiarize with the fundamental concepts in governance and public administration.

b. Understand the salient features of the Local Government Code of 1991 and its impact on local governance in the Philippines.

c. Understand the concept and significance of Barangay Development Planning in local governance and community development.

d. Be aware of the Legal Framework and illustrate the legal foundations and requirements that govern the barangay budget process, including the relevant laws, regulations, and guidelines.

e. Appreciate the various PPAs of the DILG and situate their barangay to the same.

f. Understand the meaning of transparency and public accountability in local government and find ways to implement these principles effectively.

The event concluded successfully, with attendees benefiting from informative sessions, interactive workshops, and meaningful discussions that provided valuable insights and essential skills for effective governance and community development. The active involvement of all 20 barangays of Maramag, Bukidnon, particularly the dedicated efforts of the Training Management Team, played a pivotal role in ensuring the event's success.
